Petrof is one of Europe's largest and oldest piano manufacturers. Their grand and upright pianos have been handcrafted in the Czech Republic since 1864 by skilled craftsmen who build them one at a time. Petrof invested in one of the most advanced acoustical testing chambers in order to produce the remarkable tones for which their pianos are renowned. Many famous musicians have played a Petrof because hey can produce a wider range of tones than most pianos.
If you have never put your fingers on a Petrof, you owe it to yourself to experience the sound and the action of a Petrof at SoCal Pianos.
The difference between these "slow-processed" instruments and less expensive, mass produced pianos is the quality of materials, and level of craftsmanship.

  • Soundboard is of solid spruce aged for five years
  • Tuning pins are nickel plated with rolled threads to eliminate rusting and slippage

  • Music wires are premium grade Roslau; bass strings are solid copper wound.
  • Pedals are solid brass with toe-guards to protect the woods.
  • Plates are wet cast custom crafted to be very strong and silent
